Healthy Eathing Tips for Thanksgiving

  • Never go to Thanksgiving dinner hungry. The reason for this is that we often eat faster and as a result much more when we are hungry.
  • Go without the Turkey skin. By not eating the skin you take away unneeded fat and cholesterol.
  • Limit high fat items. High fat items include fried and creamy dishes as well as cheese-filled casseroles all extremely popular on Thanksgiving.
  • Drink a lot of water. Alcohol and coffee dehydrate your body. Drinking water fills your stomach helping you eat less while also keeping you hydrated.
  • If you’re the chef, try and substitute high fat ingredients with lower-fat or fat-free ingredients.

And the best tip of all, enjoy your Thanksgiving.

In just a little while Thanksgiving is upon us and as much as we are eager to feast it should be remembered that this American holiday is one that is not always so good for the waistline.
